Location
Martin County is located on the lower east coast of Florida between the Atlantic Ocean on the east and Lake Okeechobee on the west. Most development of the county has occurred along the ocean side of the county. The county's major industries are health care and aerospace, along with tourism. Area Beaches
The "Treasure Coast" offers more than 45 miles of beautiful, and in many areas,
uncrowded beaches. In contrast to larger coastal cities such as Daytona Beach,
Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, beaches along the Treasure Coast are uncrowded and
virtually free of charge. According to a recent Hutchinson Island beach survey,
only 28% of beach users were tourists. Offering everything from shipwrecks,
